Northern Wisconsin Flood Update

On July 12, 8 to 12 inches of rain fell in a matter of hours across northern Wisconsin. Governor Scott Walker declared a State of Emergency for eight counties: Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer and Washburn.

Tourism in Northern WI

Tourism businesses in Northern Wisconsin remain open to visitors as the area continues to clean up and repair after last week's flood damage. The Department of Tourism encourages travelers to call individual tourism businesses or visitor centers to confirm conditions rather than cancel vacation or travel plans.

Travelers can check road closures and detours at www.511wi.gov, and state park and trail conditions continue to be updated on the Department of Natural Resources website.
